A non-residential artificial intelligence summer programme for talented teenagers, run by Acorn Aspirations.
The #AIAccelerator2021’s curriculum is designed to give each participant a better understanding of AI and entrepreneurship, regardless if they are a beginner, intermediate or expert. The holistic program teaches all the fundamentals that will be needed to create a leading and innovative project, including the necessary soft and hard skills.
For six years we have been hosting the Teens in AI – AI Accelerator, and over this time we have improved and optimised the program to give each participant an incredibly personalised experience. It is safe to say that you will not only improve your coding, business management, design thinking, or pitching skills, but also develop as a person by learning leadership skills, and meeting new, like minded people.
In week one, we will host a tech bootcamp, give each participant 1:1 leadership coaching, and host keynote speakers.
In week two, we will teach you human-centered design, AI Ethics, and continue with leadership coaching and developing your tech skills.
In our last week – week three, you will learn about business model canvas and the best pitching strategies to win the overall accelerator!
We particularly encourage young people to apply who are part of a group which is currently underrepresented in tech and AI, e.g. female students, LGBTQ students, students from underrepresented ethnic groups, and students from lower-income backgrounds. Any student who qualifies for the Accelerator, who also receives free school meals, is guaranteed a fully funded place.
Our curriculum is designed to give you the chance to learn how to use AI and Machine Learning technologies for good. The programme is holistic, and so focuses on human-centred design, project management, strategy and business model development, ethics, social responsibility and public speaking skills, as well as technology skills.
