Sr. Spec, Perf/Avail Engr (Capacity Manager)

Description

Working in Technology and leveraging your broad and in-depth knowledge of:-
• Capacity and performance best practices on various domains including applications, databases, networks, etc.
• Monitoring strategies including synthetic, real user, network connections, systems, and Java / .NET code

you will use your communication and collaboration skills to bring together and build upon the existing capacity management practices at Pershing in order to define and manage a formal and appropriate Capacity Management framework of standards and best practice. Your responsibilities and duties will include:

• Maintaining data on system performance and capacity
• Collecting and analysing network performance information required for simulation modelling studies.
• Potentially providing performance engineering expertise in contributing to simulation modelling projects.
• Maintaining an up-to-date Capacity Plan with costings to cover multiple, business demand scenarios
• Ownership and delivery of the capacity improvement plan
• Reporting to Senior Management on service and resource capacity and performance, technical risk identification and mitigation planning
• Taking both proactive and reactive action to ensure that the performances and capacities of services meet their agreed targets
• Partnering with application teams in the different stages of the lifecycle (development, test, staging, production operations, etc.) to coach and assist them in reducing mean time to resolution and improving system and application performance.
• Evaluation and recommendation, of automated test tools and strategies
• Providing input to project plans and recommends process improvements. Monitors progress project and provides regular status reports to management team. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.

Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred, 8-10 years of related experience required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
