We are excited to announce that we have partnered with global investments company, BNY Mellon, in an effort to address inclusion and future skills opportunities for businesses and young people across Greater Manchester and the North West.
Together, we are looking for businesses to get involved and share their knowledge and expertise to support our community – especially our young people – by offering real career advice, educational sessions and resources to those in need of it. There will be a host of webinars, awards and podcasts to take part in, bringing together cross sector voices to create change and opportunity in the region, whilst also allowing young talent to continue to drive their development as part of a wider network of likeminded people.
Northern Power Futures (NPF) connects the vast wealth of career opportunities that exist across the North with local talent, partnering with corporate partners and supporters to open up opportunities for employers, academia and future talent.
Simone Roche MBE, has long been part of the northern power house movement, using Northern Power Women’s influence and extensive network to advocate for talent, business and opportunity in the north of the UK.
The Northern Power Futures and Northern Power Women Founder said, “We have been building our relationship with BNY Mellon over the past 18 months and are delighted to move forward on a meaningful partnership to better connect people and opportunities across Greater Manchester. We will work to create a bridge with academia and volunteering opportunities with BNY Mellon colleagues and partners alike via our brand new and innovative Power Platform.”
The Power Platform is just one of the tools created and acts as an online networking tool to connect communities, businesses and colleagues, including opportunities for local young people to be mentored and to mentor others. The platform is a personal hub to expand their network, make meaningful connections and develop their skills and career.
Denise Graham, Manchester site executive at BNY Mellon added, “We are really looking forward to embarking on a partnership with Northern Power Futures. With over 1000 employees in Manchester, BNY Mellon has always had a strong commitment to giving back to the local community. By working together, we can ensure students have access to the support they need to progress in their careers and that our businesses are connected in sharing their knowledge in order to make a real lasting impact for our future talent in the region.”
